Job Purpose
Manage, monitor, and oversee the "Power Plants: Engines and APU Reliability Program" for the airline's and third-party aircraft. This includes addressing short- and long-term maintenance needs, implementing modifications to optimize engine and APU reliability, ensuring cost-effective operations, fleet readiness, and safety. Responsible for the full lifecycle of engine and APU maintenance programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the aircraft "Power Plants" technical assessment program daily, supporting engineering maintenance across various stations, including data collection, performance review, analysis, reporting, and implementing corrective actions.
- Support the Head of Engineering in developing procedures, specifications, and standards related to the "Propulsion Reliability Program".
- Review and ensure compliance with publications and regulations concerning propulsion work, aligning maintenance programs with operational needs and regulatory requirements.
- Use data and performance reports for root-cause analysis, troubleshooting, trend analysis, and investigations. Recommend modifications and ensure their integration into the Aircraft Maintenance Program with proper justification.
- Generate reports on power plant reliability, damages, trends, and define repair scopes and maintenance plans in coordination with planning teams.
- Support MCC, manufacturers, and OEMs by communicating troubleshooting requirements, modifications, and necessary actions.
Additional Responsibilities- Review service bulletins and ADs, evaluate services, and prepare business cases for approval; draft engineering orders and communicate with planning and maintenance teams.
- Collaborate with stakeholders such as Projects, Warranty, Legal, and Finance on projects, contracts, and SLAs, including performance reviews and feasibility studies.
- Manage engine shop visits to monitor process flow and ensure smooth operations per contracts and policies.
- Monitor engine oil consumption using data from MIS systems to support ETOPS requirements and cost control.
- Coordinate with Finance to settle invoices related to engine maintenance.
- Assist in audit preparations, reviews, and closure of occurrence reports and audit findings.
Qualifications- Bachelor's in Aircraft Engineering (Mechanical/Aeronautical) or equivalent; higher diplomas or certificates with experience are acceptable.
- Training on engine and APU systems, preferably Airbus 320.
- Certificates in Project Management, Cost Control, Compliance, Budgeting, and Quality Assurance are advantageous.
- Proficiency in technology systems, Microsoft Office, MRO systems, and web tools.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
Work Experience- Minimum 5 years in the aviation industry, including experience with Airbus 320 aircraft is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of aircraft airworthiness programs and regulations, such as CAMO requirements.
- Hands-on experience with power plants and engines, especially CFM56/5B & APIC/GTCP 131-9A APUs.
- Experience in engine shop visit planning and working with engine manufacturers.
- Understanding of aircraft maintenance systems and their relation to maintenance programs.
- Familiarity with Civil Aviation Authority regulations, preferably GCAA.
- Experience in policy and manual design, implementation, and monitoring.
- Ability to measure performance against regulations, contracts, and SLAs.
- Exposure to Quality Assurance, Safety, and audit practices.
