Job Description
The Technical Service Manager will lead the technical efforts to identify and grow new business opportunities and sustain existing business by providing technical support to customers for the ART Hydro processing Catalysts business. This role reports to the Senior Sales Director.
Responsibilities
- Provide ongoing technical support to current customers, including unit data analysis, preparation for customer visits, follow-ups, and leveraging R&D data to identify tailored applications. Responsible for the entire Technical Proposal when issued to customers.
- Assist in selecting catalyst loading diagrams and preparing technical offer packages for hydroprocessing catalyst tenders generated by prospective customers.
- Work with ART specific product lines, including FBR, Ebullated Bed Resid HydroCracking, HCR, and DHT.
- Support the global sales organization through customer visits, catalyst trials, and onsite support during catalyst loadings and startups.
- Collaborate closely with regional business directors and technical segment leads to grow and sustain the business in the Middle East and India regions.
- Maintain and update the CRM database with technical data on refineries and hydroprocessing units in the regional market (Middle East).
- Prepare and present technical papers and publications at major refining conferences and workshops in the Middle East and India.
- Coordinate with R&D personnel to design testing plans that meet customer needs, including assessments, troubleshooting, and new product development.
- Work with Sales, R&D, and SME’s to support technical service, proposals, and catalyst startup support.
- Contribute innovative ideas for new and modified products and services to add value for ART and its customers.
- Follow EHS protocols and promote a safe working environment. Collaborate with internal teams to address customer questions and requests promptly.
Required Qualifications
- BS degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 6-9 years of experience in hydro-processing refinery operations, with at least 5 years in a technical services role within refining or catalyst business.
Candidate Profile
- Willingness to travel approximately 50%+ and operate globally, primarily supporting customers in the GCC region.
- Broad knowledge of the oil refinery industry, with experience in residue hydrocracking being advantageous.
- Field experience with equipment operation and plant processes; knowledge of hydro-processing equipment is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with simulation models is a plus.
- Fluent in English; basic Arabic language skills are desirable.
- Culturally sensitive, with prior experience working in the Middle East and India preferred.
- Proactive, with a strong sense of ownership and ability to work with senior executives in a multinational environment.
