Overview

Technical Product Owner | Automotive | Group Tech & Dig Platforms

As a Technical Product Owner (TPO), you will be working with the Business Leaders in the development of the IT Portfolio (IT Roadmap) for the business unit, aligned with its strategic goals, and is the main contact person for the business unit. The TPO will also manage the technical aspects of the product development alongside the Product Owner/Manager acting as a bridge that connects business and development teams, grooming the requirements and providing technical assistance in the backlog ordering, creation and communication.

Responsibilities
  • Build a strong partnership with business unit leadership (business domain) and other key stakeholders to become fully integrated in decision-making and driving business strategic priorities
  • Assist and advise the Product Owner on key technical decisions elaboration of the House of Quality (HoQ) / Product Backlog (Epic)
  • Work alongside Business Product Owner to define, manage and accept user stories. Evaluating the proposed solution to ensure business fitment
  • Support development of business cases, operating model changes, solutions, business buy-in and integrate in planning and budgeting cycles
  • Bring new thinking and innovation to the business. Business SPOC for all engagements and liaison with Business and Technical teams for demand management
  • Manage business requirements by working closely with business product owners. Provide support to business in preparation of BRD in the conventional projects
  • Evaluating the proposed solution to ensure business fitment. Lead & drive the RFX process and evaluates technical and functional capabilities of vendors/solutions. Leads the Business Case preparation along with business and GTDP functional leads including PMO
  • Requirement / user story documentation in the POD and ensure techno-functional solution alignment with business product owner
  • Participate in the testing cycles to ensure the user story is delivered and acceptance criteria is met
  • Supports the Product Manager with the elaboration of the Product Backlog and is responsible for US to meet DOR, in particular: Breakdown of User Stories, Specifying the US Acceptance criteria aligning with Business expectations, References to UX/UI, HLD, LLD, Traceability from Journey to Epic to US to Test Case to Defect
  • Prepare BRDs along with business teams in traditional projects. Work alongside Business Product Owner to define, manage and accept user stories
  • Bring new thinking and innovation to the business. Own and lead the end-to-end delivery of the CR / RFCs to business
  • Contribute to the solution definition and architecture development (including phase out plans) with the Principal Engineer
  • Support the Program Manager and Scrum Master/Project Manager in the program/project plan definition
  • Take part in sprint planning and clear all technical questions. Support the Product Manager with the elaboration of the Product Backlog and be responsible for User Stories to meet DOR (definition of ready), in particular: Breakdown of User Stories, Specifying the User Stories acceptance criteria
  • References to UX/UI, High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD)
  • Contribute to the improvement of the solution demand & delivery practices, procedures, methodologies and tools
  • Prepares/contributes to the preparation of the Business Requirements Documents (BRD) in traditional projects
Required Skills to be successful
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship skills including negotiating and relationship management skills with ability to drive achievement of objectives
  • Communicating clearly to cross functional team members – excellent organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills
What equips you for the role

  • Experience with working in SCRUM or Agile environments and in the conduction of Design Thinking sessions
  • Intermediate knowledge in UI/UX design, website and mobile development etc
  • Good exposure to the Sales processes, digitization, automation & AI
  • Knowledge in SAP, SAP Sales Cloud, JIRA, DevOps will be an advantage
  • Demonstrable experience working in a similar role – preferably Retail/Automotive business operating model
