About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Technical Product Managerwith 10 + years of relevant experience who is:

• A blended hands-on Tech Lead & Product Manager role
• Bridging product strategy and technical execution
• Working on delivery of client data solutions (platforms, pipelines, ML enablement, engineering and data science) in a Databricks/Azure environment.
• Leading a small, stream-aligned team (3/4)
  • Collaborates with Data Science complex subsystem team
  • Coached/supported by Databricks enabling team
  • Coached/supported by Product Management enabling team
  • Supported by Data Architecture and Integration enabling team

Preferred Skills & Experience (or equivalent aptitude)

1. Strong Technical Acumen


• Databricks or similar workflows e.g. notebooks, Delta Lake, job orchestration, cluster management
• Development in languages such as Python, SQL, C#, javascript etc.
• Data architecture concepts (e.g. medallion architecture, data contracts, ETL)
• ML workflows (e.g. feature engineering, model lifecycle, ML flow)
• Cloud platforms (ideally Azure), Databricks hosting
• Continuous Deployment, Trunk-Based Development, Synchronous quality gates (4-eyes), “Automate everything” / ”shift-left” mindset. Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform)
• Understanding of data architecture approaches including data fabric and data mesh
• Lead teams to create robust o11y and practice basic SRE

2. Product Management Skills

• Prioritising business value, data-driven decision-making and product-led thinking
• Translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements
• Aligning short-term delivery with long-term vision
• Comfortable driving discovery and delivery cycles

3. Cross-functional Collaboration

• Ability to work closely with data engineers, data scientists, and software engineers, effective collaboration with business stakeholders and clients
• Advocate for self-service tooling, highly autonomous delivery teams and consuming Platform-as-a-Product

4. Communication & Leadership

• Documenting decisions, sharing product direction clearly
• Leading low ceremony, high-ownership teams
• Data-driven decision making (e.g. DORA metrics)

5. Bonus Points

• DataOps/MLOps (e.g., CI/CD for notebooks, model versioning, data lineage)
• Experience of data governance and compliance management
• Consulting or client-facing delivery
• Tools like dbt, Airflow, Power BI, or similar
