TECHNICAL MANAGER

Technical Manager: AED 30,000–50,000 per month (Dubai)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Technical Manager to oversee the operational performance, safety, and compliance of our Anchor Handling Tug fleet.

This role serves as a vital link between our clients and vessels, ensuring service excellence and operational efficiency.

The Technical Manager will lead and guide vessel managers, fleet teams, and crew, while overseeing offshore operations and vessel management companies.

The role includes coordination with distributed offshore staff to ensure smooth and consistent operations across our fleet.

Job Location:

Dubai / Mumbai

Key Accountabilities:
  1. Prioritize safety above all, with the authority and responsibility to make critical decisions ensuring the constant safe operation of the fleet.
  2. Train, mentor, and develop the fleet and vessel leadership teams.
  3. Foster an environment of continuous improvement and professional growth.
  4. Ensure all vessels pass third-party inspections (including OVID, OCDIMF, PSC, etc.) with minimal observations.
  5. Maintain a proactive approach to compliance and quality assurance.
  6. Oversee the ship management company of the fleet and vessels with competent personnel.
  7. Ensure teams are adequately equipped and experienced to handle offshore operations.
  8. Approve annual Vessel Operating Budgets, ensuring they align with ship management expectations and timelines.
  9. Focus on cost control, budget management, and value optimization.
  10. Prepare detailed and accurate project/repairs/docking specifications.
  11. Lead technical investigation teams to determine the root cause of technical breakdowns.
  12. Liaise with insurance companies in case of technical claims and follow-up.
  13. Negotiate with suppliers and service providers to optimize OPEX and purchase costs.
  14. Plan and prepare purchase contracts to optimize vessel operation costs in the long run.
  15. Utilize modern tools and software to ensure vessels are operated safely and efficiently.
Qualifications:
  • Holder of a Class One Chief Engineer Unlimited license.
  • Minimum of 5 years of shore-based experience in a marine-related company, preferably as a Technical Superintendent or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience with offshore vessels, specifically PSV/AHTS.
  • Proven leadership and people management skills with a track record of coaching and mentoring staff.
