Job summary

Agile Consultants seeks a Senior Technical Manager - Marine Services to own and direct marine technical operations across multiple sites. The role requires hands-on engineering leadership, rigorous SOP development, and strict adherence to SOLAS, LSA Code, and IMO regulations.

The successful candidate will manage flag state and classification approvals, mentor engineers, and coordinate with surveyors and Port State Control to keep fleet operations compliant and efficient.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–8 years hands-on marine technical experience.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end technical operations and set strategy, standards, and quality across branches.
• Establish and refine SOPs for servicing and calibration in line with SOLAS, LSA Code, and manufacturer specs.

We are seeking an accomplished Technical Manager - Marine Services to assume full ownership of marine technical operations.

This is a senior, high-accountability position responsible for the strategic direction, regulatory integrity, and operational excellence of LSA/FFA, lifeboat and davit systems, calibration, automation, and Navcom services, as well as maintaining the company's standing with flag administrations and classification societies.

The ideal candidate must have strong hands-on marine technical experience combined with previous supervisory or managerial experience.

Mandatory experience with LSA/FFA, Automation, Navcom, Calibration, and Lifeboat systems is required.

• Assume end-to-end ownership of technical operations, setting the technical strategy, service standards, and quality benchmarks across the branches.
• Establish and continuously refine Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for LSA/FFA servicing, lifeboat/davit maintenance, release gear overhaul, calibration, and automation in alignment with SOLAS, the LSA Code, and manufacturer specifications.
• Act as the designated technical signatory for survey reports, service certificates, and compliance documentation.
• Own and manage the full lifecycle of flag state approvals and classification society approvals, including DNV, ABS, LR, BV, RINA, or equivalent, covering renewals, audits, and scope extensions.
• Serve as the primary technical liaison with flag administrations, classification society surveyors, and Port State Control authorities.
• Manage a multi-site technical workforce, including workload planning, performance oversight, and technical mentorship of engineers and technicians.
• Oversee the scheduling of servicing, inspections, and certifications to eliminate lapses and ensure fleet-wide compliance for client vessels.
• Drive KPI tracking for turnaround time, first-time-pass rates, and client satisfaction.
• Provide technical input into tenders, quotations, and scope-of-work proposals.
• Identify opportunities to expand service capability and approval scope in line with market demand.

• Marine Engineering degree/diploma or equivalent maritime technical qualification.
• Minimum 5–8 years of hands-on marine technical experience.
• Candidates must have hands-on exposure across the above marine technical service areas, rather than experience limited to only one technical discipline.
• Proven experience managing flag state approvals and classification society approvals.
• Experience working with classification societies such as DNV, ABS, LR, BV, RINA, or equivalent.
• Strong working knowledge of SOLAS, the LSA Code, and relevant IMO/flag regulations.
• Previous supervisory or managerial technical experience, ideally within a marine service provider or ship management environment.
• Experience managing and technically mentoring engineers and technicians.
• Experience handling technical documentation, survey reports, service certificates, and compliance documentation.
• Willingness to travel locally and internationally.
