Position: Technical/MEP Design Manager

This role is responsible for overseeing the design, coordination, and integration of MEP systems within building projects. The manager ensures that MEP designs meet all technical, regulatory, and project requirements from concept through construction, managing consultants and stakeholder interfaces.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the MEP design process across all project stages—concept, schematic, detailed design, and construction.
  • Coordinate between architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines to ensure fully integrated designs.
  • Review and approve MEP design documents, calculations, specifications, and drawings for quality, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Manage external MEP consultants and internal teams to meet project goals and timelines.
  • Ensure designs comply with local codes, international standards, and sustainability requirements.
  • Oversee design submissions, technical reports, and authority approvals.
  • Facilitate design workshops, technical meetings, and value engineering sessions.
  • Support procurement by providing technical input during tender reviews and supplier evaluations.
  • Resolve technical issues during construction and provide support for site implementation.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
  • 15+ years of experience in MEP design and coordination, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
  • Experience in large-scale or residential projects.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, codes, and standards.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and relevant design and coordination tools.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Certification or membership in relevant professional bodies.
  • Familiarity with BIM workflows and clash detection platforms (e.g., Navisworks).
