Job summary

Jak Consultancy is seeking an experienced Design Manager / Technical Manager in Dubai to lead a technical design team and coordinate with external consultants. This role focuses on technical design coordination, shop drawings, and resolving design issues to ensure buildable, coordinated solutions.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in interior fit-out or construction, strong CAD skills (AutoCAD) and familiarity with BIM processes.

Qualifications

Degree or diploma in Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering, Construction or a related discipline.
8+ years of relevant interior fit-out or construction experience.
Strong experience in technical design and design coordination.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage a technical design team, including CAD and technical design resources.
Coordinate with external architects, interior designers, consultants and project stakeholders.
Review and coordinate design information, drawings and technical documentation from design consultants.
Ensure designs are technically coordinated and suitable for construction and installation.
Identify and resolve design clashes, discrepancies and technical issues before and during construction.
Work with project managers, site and commercial teams to ensure design information supports delivery.
Review shop drawings, technical drawings and design documentation.
Coordinate revisions and communicate design changes to relevant teams.
Provide technical solutions to design and construction challenges.
Manage flow of technical information between consultants, internal design teams and site teams.
Monitor quality and accuracy of drawings and deliverables.
