Lab49 is looking for a Technical Lead to work with our clients to guide the analysis, design, and build of new banking solutions applied to their business. This person will collaborate with clients and teams of architects, data scientists, engineers, and visualization experts to discover and understand opportunities with clients’ data, and to present learnings back to stakeholders to create actionable insights. The role requires a strong combination of experience in delivering data and analytics initiatives, financial domain expertise, and stakeholder management skills to lead engagements that create substantial value for our clients while being commercially successful.

• Technical Vision and Strategy : Develop and communicate a clear technical vision for data management and processing. Lead architectural design and evolution of data systems supporting growth and innovation.
• Advanced Data Architecture Design : Design and implement sophisticated data architectures supporting analytics at scale, utilizing platforms like Snowflake and Alation for data governance and metadata management.
• Development and Optimization : Lead development and refinement of data pipelines, employing tools like Apache Kafka for real-time data ingestion and processing.
• Real-Time Data Solutions : Architect and implement real-time caching and in-memory solutions using technologies like Redis to enhance performance.
• Analytics Platform Management : Oversee integration and use of platforms like Power BI to ensure accessible, actionable data insights.
• Software Development Leadership : Maintain hands-on involvement in software development, setting best practices, and mentoring teams in complex data processing and coding techniques.
• Architecture and System Design : Craft scalable, flexible data architectures, including data models, databases, and integration processes.
• Technical Innovation : Identify and evaluate new technologies, leading adoption of cutting-edge data tools and frameworks.

• Knowledge of NoSQL and SQL databases.
• Understanding of data governance and management tools and techniques.
• Experience in building large concurrent applications.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, Microservices, DevOps tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Hashicorp, GitHub/GitLab).
• Cloud experience (Azure or AWS).
• Hands-on technical experience in computer science, mathematics, or related fields.
• Financial services domain knowledge across multiple asset classes.
• Effective communication skills, proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint for analysis and presentation.
• Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills.
