Job summary

BigData Technology Solutions in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Legal Counsel to support the Legal Function across commercial contracting, technology, corporate and M&A, IP and data privacy, AI governance, cybersecurity and compliance programmes.

Under direct supervision with a development path toward independent portfolio responsibility over 18–24 months, you will draft and negotiate agreements, manage regulatory and DPIA tasks, and coordinate with internal teams and external counsel.

Qualifications

• LLB from a recognised institution.
• Bar admission to a recognised jurisdiction.
• 5–8 years post-qualification experience, ideally UAE in-house or law firm exposure.
• Privacy credential (CIPP/E, CIPM, or equivalent) is desirable.
• English: full professional fluency, with strong analytical and drafting discipline.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate master service agreements, teaming agreements, referral agreements, supply contracts, and other standard commercial agreements; support negotiations with redlines and responses.
• Support technology-driven agreements — software licensing, cloud and hosting, data-centre, managed-services, systems-integration, and SLAs — with information-security and data-protection provisions.
• Assist with M&A and corporate transactions across the deal lifecycle, due diligence, data-room management and document review; track closing conditions.
• Draft routine shareholder resolutions, coordinate notarisations and attestations, and support group entity administration.
• Manage trademark and copyright applications and renewals; coordinate IP filings and intra-group IP assignments.
• Support data privacy activities: DPIAs, processing records, privacy notices, and data-subject rights.
