Job summary

Pairs is building the best investor relations team in venture, and you’ll lead a five‑person team of associates responsible for mandate calls, pitches and founder calls. You’ll report directly to both founders and shape the hiring and onboarding as the team grows.

The role is fully remote with US Eastern overlap; total compensation ranges from US$200K to US$300K, reflecting experience and impact in private capital networks.

Qualifications

• Background in family offices, VC, growth fund, investment bank, or capital raising for private companies.
• Ability to run calls, provide hard feedback early, and keep a high standard for introductions.

Job Description:

We're looking for someone who has led a team, still loves the actual work, and wants to build the best investor relations team in venture with us.

Pairs is a vetted private capital network. We put break-out founders in front of the family offices, VCs and strategic investors who fit them, and our team runs the investor relations work around every introduction. We are paid by the founder for our work, never by the round. Investors are members of the network and pay nothing.

The team you’d lead

Five associates. Each one holds a book of investor members and client companies. They run mandate calls with family offices and funds, pitch our clients to the members they fit, and turn those pitches into founder calls. They’re good, and they’ll be better with someone sitting next to them every day. You’d report directly to both founders.

What your week looks like

• Monday you set the week with the team: priorities, targets, and who needs help where.
• During the week you’re on calls with them, reading pitches before they go out and coaching in the moment, not once a quarter.
• Every associate gets a 1:1 with you, every week.
• When a mandate call needs someone senior in the room, that’s you.
• Friday is a review of every win and loss, and then the numbers go to both founders.

What you’ll own

• Results: mandate calls, activations, pitches, founder calls and referrals.
• How each associate grows, with a clear bar, honest feedback and a plan to get better.
• Hiring and onboarding as the team grows.
• The standard. If you wouldn’t put your name on an introduction, it doesn’t go out.

Who I’m looking for

• Someone who has led a team before, ideally around five people, and the people you led would tell me you made them better.
• A background on the investment side: a family office, VC, growth fund or investment bank, or capital raising for private companies.
• You know how family offices decide and what gets them to take a founder call.
• Showing beats telling for you, and you can run the call yourself.
• Hard feedback comes from you early and kindly, and the standard doesn’t move.
• AI tooling and a clean CRM handle your admin, so your hours go to people.

What you get

US$200K to US$300K total compensation, fully remote, with a few hours of overlap with US Eastern time. A team to lead, a direct line to both founders, and a seat that grows as the team does.
