ROLE PURPOSE:

This is a dynamic role focused on delivering high standards in teaching, learning, and academic coordination. You’ll engage students, support teacher development, and ensure a high-quality learning experience.

Working closely with the Director of Studies, you will support recruitment, induction, planning, assessment, learner tracking, and level coordination. You'll also teach and mentor teachers through regular feedback, CPD, and performance reviews while upholding academic policies and processes.

As Teaching and Learning Coordinator, you will promote innovative teaching practices, support staff wellbeing, and help shape the strategic direction of the department through data-driven planning and continuous improvement. Our curriculum combines in-person teaching with effective language learning approaches, connecting classroom themes to social activities, and encouraging both linguistic and cultural immersion.

ROLE and RESPONSIBILITIES:

Young Learner Coordination

  • Support placement and induction processes
  • Coordinate timetables, classrooms, and resources
  • Assist with classroom management and student support
  • Collaborate with the wider YL team for consistency and quality

Teaching & Learning | Curriculum

  • Monitor and enhance learning through planning and feedback analysis
  • Support teachers in differentiating and personalising learning
  • Track student progress and help set academic goals

Teacher Development & CPD

  • Observe lessons and provide constructive feedback
  • Deliver regular training and development sessions
  • Encourage reflective practice and collaboration

Quality & Programme Design

  • Assist in curriculum and materials development
  • Contribute to quality assurance and academic improvement targets
  • Represent EP in external training and workshops

Teaching Duties

  • Teach up to 15 hours per week
  • Lead tutorials, study clinics, and assessments
  • Maintain student records and contribute to academic planning

Qualifications and Skills

  • DELTA, Trinity DipTESOL, or equivalent at Master’s level; Master’s in Linguistics or TESOL desirable (minimum: Bachelor's degree in any subject).
  • Proven experience in English language schools, with a strong understanding of teaching methodology in multilingual settings.
  • Strong planning skills, creativity in lesson delivery, and a commitment to continuous development
  • Confident supporting and mentoring less experienced teachers
  • Comfortable using EdTech tools in both in-person and online environments
  • Proactive, flexible, detail-oriented, and able to meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • Able to provide pastoral support and manage behaviour effectively
  • Aware of and compliant with safeguarding and Prevent Duty guidelines
