Specific Duties:
Teaching and Learning:
- Understanding of the curriculum
- Organizing classroom resources and creating displays to foster a positive learning environment
- Planning, preparing, and delivering sessions catering to all ability levels
- Motivating students through enthusiastic and imaginative teaching
- Observing and assessing students in line with school policies
- Reflecting on and adjusting teaching strategies and environment based on student progress
- Collaborating with specialists such as speech therapists, occupational therapists, and educational psychologists as needed
Assessment and Data:
- Taking responsibility for the progress of your class
- Managing assessments and recording student development using Target Tracker
- Using assessment data to inform planning and interventions
- Providing feedback to parents and carers during parent-teacher meetings
Behaviour Management and Duties:
- Adhering to the school's behaviour policy
- Managing classes effectively to motivate and challenge pupils
- Maintaining positive relationships and exercising appropriate authority
- Acting as a positive role model
- Promoting self-control and independence among students
- Carrying out duties as directed within school policies
Wider Professional Responsibilities:
- Participating in curriculum action groups for planning and assessment
- Supporting school events, outings, and activities, including outside school hours
- Communicating effectively with parents regarding student achievements and well-being
- Contributing positively to the school's ethos
- Running weekly extracurricular activities each term
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in a related subject with PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification
Experience:
Minimum 1-2 years of teaching experience.
