Teacher of Business and Economics Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure children are safe and well cared for at all times.
  • Plan and deliver creative, engaging lessons that promote active learning and maximize student progress.
  • Communicate effectively and lead the work of others as appropriate.
  • Lead CAS activities, participate in staff training, and contribute to the development of the school community.
  • Comply with school policies and the Aquila Ways.
  • Engage with the school community through newsletters, informal dialogue, reporting, supporting school functions, and contributing to community and marketing activities.
  • Participate in performance management processes for self and others.
Person Specification

Qualifications and Training

  • A subject-related degree and PGCE / PGDE or equivalent with UK QTS.

Experience

  • At least three years of proven teaching experience in Key Stage 4 and 5 Economics.
  • At least three years of proven teaching experience in Key Stage 4 Business Studies.
  • Five or more years teaching the National Curriculum for England or IB, including IBDP Economics, GCSE Business Studies, and Financial Literacy.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Inspire and engage students through innovative lessons.
  • Develop and deliver teaching materials and programs.
  • Monitor and manage student behavior to ensure a respectful learning environment.
  • Work effectively within the department to improve teaching quality.
  • Maintain professional relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.

  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding student achievements and well-being.
