Responsibilities

Main Duties

• Deliver lessons that inspire students to succeed and achieve the best possible outcomes.
• Collaborate and work effectively in teams.
• Maintain good communication at all levels.
• Develop positive relationships with all members of the school community.
• Plan engaging lessons in collaboration with fellow teachers that meet curriculum requirements.
• Liaise with colleagues and work flexibly.
• Engage with parents to ensure student happiness and academic success.
• Support children's development in cooperation with curriculum support staff (if applicable).

Qualifications and Specific Duties

• Understand the curriculum thoroughly.
• Organize classroom resources and create displays to foster a positive learning environment.
• Plan, prepare, and deliver sessions catering to diverse ability levels.
• Motivate pupils with enthusiastic and imaginative teaching.
• Observe and assess children according to school assessments.
• Reflect on classroom practices and adjust planning and environment accordingly.
• Collaborate with specialists such as speech therapists, occupational therapists, and educational psychologists when needed.
• Embed the Teacher and Learner DNA language and attitudes throughout the curriculum.

Assessment and Data Management

• Take responsibility for the progress of your class.
• Record and assess student development using Target Tracker.
• Utilize assessment data to inform planning, provision, and intervention.
• Provide progress feedback to parents during conferences and meetings.

Behaviour Management and Duties

• Follow the school's behaviour policy.
• Manage classes effectively, inspiring and motivating pupils appropriately.
• Maintain positive relationships and exercise appropriate authority.
• Act as a positive role model, demonstrating expected attitudes and behaviour.
• Set high expectations for behaviour, promoting self-control and independence.
• Perform duties as directed within school policies.
