Provide early intervention to promote the educational and social development of identified pupil/s under the direction and guidance of the Head of Inclusion.
Teaching and learning:
- Clear understanding of the British Curriculum.
- Meet with other professionals such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and educational psychologists, if required.
- Work with the Head of Inclusion to ensure that learning requirements are met in terms of reasonable adjustments and access arrangements.
- Plan and deliver interventions for students of determination across the primary school.
- Support EAL students.
- Coordinate in-class support for both students of determination and gifted and talented students.
- Support the writing and reviewing of IEPs to track progress.
- Update SEN/POD register.
- Consolidate data as required across subjects and years.
- Maintain G & T register and create/monitor Advance Learning Plans.
- Liaise with teachers to support them and advise on strategies as appropriate.
Assessment and data:
- Use data provided by assessments to influence further planning, provision, and intervention.
- Provide feedback to parents and carers on a student's progress at Parent-Teacher Conferences and other meetings.
Behaviour management and duties:
- Follow the school's established policies and procedures, e.g., behaviour, code of conduct, and child safeguarding policy.
- Manage classes effectively, using approaches appropriate to students' needs to inspire, motivate, and challenge pupils.
- Maintain good relationships with pupils, exercise appropriate authority, and act decisively within the school's policies.
- Be a positive role model, demonstrating consistently the attitudes, values, and behaviour expected of pupils.
- Have high expectations of good conduct, promoting self-control and independence of all learners.
- Ensure a safe and secure environment that fosters social, emotional, and academic growth for all students.
- Carry out duties as directed within the school's policies.
Wider professional responsibilities:
- Support in organizing and participating in school events, outings, and ECAs, which may occur after school hours.
- Communicate effectively with parents/carers regarding students' achievements and well-being using school systems.
- Contribute positively to the wider life and ethos of the school.
- Engage in professional development to ensure high-quality teaching and effective execution of roles and responsibilities.
Requirements:
- Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Special Education or PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification in SEN.
- Minimum Experience: At least 2 years working with SEN/POD children.

- Previous experience with students with additional learning needs in a primary setting.
