Role Context

The English Teacher will strengthen the language, literacy and analytical capabilities students need for success across the curriculum. Through purposeful study of language and literature, the teacher will develop confident readers, thoughtful writers and effective communicators who can interpret information, construct arguments and express ideas with clarity. A strong emphasis is placed on measurable progress. Prior attainment, assessment evidence and performance indicators will inform lesson design, differentiation and intervention so that students receive the appropriate level of support and academic challenge.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify attainment gaps and implement focused strategies to improve progress.
• Make effective use of ICT and digital learning resources to support English instruction.

• Evaluate achievement against lesson objectives and use findings to improve subsequent teaching.

Ideal Profile

Applicants should hold a bachelor 's degree in Education or a bachelor 's degree in English or a related discipline together with a PGCE or equivalent recognized teaching qualification. Candidates must have teaching experience within the English National Curriculum and demonstrate successful classroom practice across an appropriate age and ability range. Practical knowledge of the UK National Curriculum is required. The role calls for an educator who can interpret assessment evidence and convert it into meaningful classroom action. Experience differentiating instruction for SEN, students of determination, EAL and higher-attaining learners will be particularly useful.
