The Biology Teacher will combine high-quality classroom instruction with broader responsibility for curriculum standards, student performance and departmental development. The position requires an experienced practitioner who can use subject expertise and performance evidence to improve outcomes while ensuring that Biology provision remains challenging, inclusive and academically coherent. A key business impact of the role is maintaining strong academic performance by identifying underachievement early and converting assessment evidence into targeted action. The role requires more than successful classroom delivery. Applicants should have evidence of leadership at appropriate levels and be comfortable contributing to curriculum development, departmental planning, teaching quality and performance improvement.
Experience using assessment and school performance data to identify underachievement and close learning gaps is particularly important.
Candidates should also understand how curriculum provision can be adapted for SEN, students of determination, gifted and talented and EAL learners.
