The SE Tax & Customs Department operates as a discreet function within the Global Finance Department and is led by the SVP Tax & Customs who is based in Paris. SE Regional Tax VPs (Americas - Boston, EMEA - Paris, APAC - Beijing) manage the tax operations in the three geographic regions.

POSITION: Middle-East and Africa (MEA) Tax Manager

  • Based in Dubai reporting to VP Tax EMEA
  • Scope: MEA clusters including Gulf, KSA, NEAL, Turkey and Anglophone Africa

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implement and monitor application of group tax policies and procedures within the covered region
  • Day-to-day tax support/advisory to business in covered region
  • Support application of transfer pricing policies & procedures
  • Support/manage tax audits
  • Support/consult in projects with international tax implications
  • Support and monitor group tax reporting
  • Partner with key Schneider functions (Legal, M&A, Accounting, Treasury, Government Affairs) to provide consulting support, and enhance communication to help achieve Tax Department objectives
  • Establish solid communication and working relationship with Global Tax Department with regards to Tax/Finance projects:
    • SVP Tax & Customs and regional VPs
    • Tax Accounting Director
    • Transfer Pricing team
    • M&A team
  • Establish solid communication and coordination with Zone CFO, Zone CAO and local treasurers
  • Coordinate and assess tax changes and developments potentially affecting tax profile
  • Maintain and coordinate relationship with external tax advisors

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

  • Masters (or equal) degree in Accounting/Economics/Finance or Law
  • 10+ years of relevant experience within tax consulting firm and/or in-house corporate tax department
  • In depth knowledge on the principles of corporate taxation and international taxation
  • Knowledge on the principles of transfer pricing
  • Experience with tax audits
  • Ability to evaluate the implications of new legislation
  • Familiarity with EU tax legislation and global tax initiatives (e.g. BEPS actions) is an advantage
  • Requirement: fluent in English
  • Experience of working collaboratively with colleagues across different geographical boundaries
  • Strong organizational, communication and writing skills are a requirement
  • Ability to manage others and demonstrate leadership
  • Familiarity with the use of ERP systems is an advantage
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, MS project, etc.)
  • Keen business acumen
  • Ability to think strategically and see the “big picture”
  • Ability to manage the implementation of tax projects, working with other functions and advisors as appropriate
