We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Tax Associate with 2-3 years of experience in corporate tax or VAT to join our dynamic tax consulting team. The ideal candidate will assist in providing tax compliance, advisory, and planning services to clients while building their expertise and advancing their career in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Tax Compliance and Reporting:
- Prepare corporate tax, VAT, and other relevant tax returns for review by senior staff.
- Assist in ensuring clients’ tax compliance obligations are met, including timely submission of filings and payments.
- Liaise with tax authorities to address queries, resolve issues, and support audits.
Tax Advisory and Research:
- Conduct research on tax laws, regulations, and guidelines to provide technical support for tax advisory projects.
- Assist in preparing tax advice for clients on matters such as VAT registration, corporate tax registration.
Support in Statutory Audits:
- Collaborate with audit teams by supporting tax-related reviews, including provision and deferred tax calculations.
- Identify potential tax risks or compliance issues during the audit process and escalate them to senior team members.
Client Relationship Management:
- Build strong working relationships with clients, ensuring efficient and professional communication.
- Respond to client queries and requests in a timely and accurate manner.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with senior tax professionals to ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Participate in training sessions and knowledge-sharing initiatives to enhance technical skills.
Administrative and Process Improvements:
- Maintain accurate client records and filing systems for tax engagements.
- Contribute to improving internal processes, including templates and workflows.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.
- Professional qualification or part-qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CTA, or equivalent) is a plus.
- 1–2 years of experience in corporate tax, VAT, or a related field, preferably in a professional services environment.
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and data analysis tools.
- Basic knowledge of corporate tax and VAT regulations.
- Familiarity with tax preparation and reporting software is an advantage.
- Proficient in other Microsoft Office tools (Word, PowerPoint).
