About the Role
VAT and corporate tax compliance across a varied client base — law firms, clinics, real estate, IT, F&B, foreign branches and startups — plus three specialist areas: QFZP advisory, corporate tax/VAT health checks, and HNWI asset-structuring tax. Built around a clear pathway to dual FTA Tax Agent certification (VAT and Corporate Tax) and growing credibility with the Federal Tax Authority over time.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
Core VAT & corporate tax compliance
- Prepare and review VAT and corporate tax filings across a varied client base — legal, healthcare, beauty and aesthetic, real estate, IT, F&B, foreign branches and startups
- Support e-invoicing readiness as it becomes mandatory across client segments
- Advise on the tax implications of company setup and structuring for new market entrants and startups
QFZP advisory
- Assess whether a client's activities, income, free zone and operational substance meet Qualifying Free Zone Person requirements
- Document eligibility positions and flag substance or evidence gaps before they become a compliance risk
- Support clients through an FTA review or audit of their QFZP position where required
Corporate tax & VAT health checks
- Independently review a client's existing tax returns, filings and positions (typically businesses around AED 50M in revenue) to surface hidden exposure or improvement opportunities
- Prepare clear, senior-ready findings and remediation recommendations
- Support the Q3-Q4 corporate-tax health-check cycle, and respond to VAT-driven reviews as they arise year-round
HNWI asset-structure tax & compliance
- Work alongside the client's law firm to design the tax-efficient side of a new or migrating asset-holding structure (ADGM, DIFC or DMCC)
- Establish and maintain the accounting, tax and annual filing framework for the structure once it's in place
- Update the structure's tax and reporting position as assets, investments or operating companies are added
FTA relationship & compliance
- Prepare and review UAE VAT and Corporate Tax filings, registrations, deregistrations and refund claims
- Prepare responses to FTA queries, audits, assessments and voluntary disclosures, working with clients and their advisors — Simply Solved's role is technical preparation and guidance, not formal on-the-record representation of the client
- Maintain compliance with Federal Decree-Law No. 47 of 2022 and related Cabinet/Ministerial Decisions
- Build genuine working relationships with FTA resources and personnel — this is a real part of the job's value to Simply Solved, not a side effect of certification
Certification & growth
- Work toward dual FTA Tax Agent certification — VAT and Corporate Tax — with firm support for exam preparation and CPE
- Take on progressively more advisory-led work, and potentially direct client ownership, as certification and experience develop
What We Need
Must-have
- 2-6 years UAE experience in a professional-services or advisory environment — tax advisory, tax compliance, or accounting with direct tax exposure.
- Direct FTA interaction — registrations, filings, queries or audits
- Real customer-service and project-management experience, not technical skill alone — this role represents Simply Solved to clients and to the FTA
- Eligible and committed to pursuing dual FTA Tax Agent certification (VAT and Corporate Tax)
- Can explain a tax position to a non-technical client, not only in a technical memo
Nice-to-have
- Already holds or working towards FTA Tax Agent certification (VAT and/or Corporate Tax)
- ACCA, CPA, CA, CTA or CMA
- Prior experience with QFZP assessments, free-zone structuring, or HNWI/family-office clients specifically
- Comfort taking on Account-Manager-style client ownership over time
How We'll Know It's Working
- Accuracy and timeliness of filings and FTA submissions
- Number of QFZP or health-check engagements delivered to a senior-ready standard
- Progress toward dual FTA Tax Agent certification
- Client and Account Manager satisfaction with technical clarity and responsiveness
Who Thrives Here
Someone who wants a genuine long-term UAE tax advisory career, not a transitional stop — with the analytical rigor to build a defensible position, the communication skill to explain it plainly, and the client-facing maturity of someone who's worked in professional services rather than only in-house. Not a fresh graduate — this role needs credibility from day one — and not simply a senior hire for seniority's sake; adaptability to a fast-moving consultancy environment matters as much as experience. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Tax expected.
