Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in tax accounting with strong knowledge of VAT and corporate tax laws.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA preferred.

Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Tax Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing various tax-related tasks, ensuring compliance with local and international tax regulations, and supporting the preparation and review of tax returns.

Principal Responsibilities and Duties

• VAT Compliance: Prepare VAT returns for Oman, UAE, Bahrain, and the UK, ensuring accuracy and completeness of data for review. Assist with VAT audits and refund claims.
• Corporate Tax Return: Work with external advisors and the internal finance team to prepare tax returns for various Middle Eastern countries, such as Oman, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Iraq, Kurdistan, and India. Ensure timely and accurate filing to avoid any penalties.
• ESR Compliance in Different Countries: Monitor and ensure compliance with Economic Substance Regulations (ESR) across various jurisdictions. Stay updated with changes in ESR requirements and implement necessary adjustments.
• Quarterly Tax Provision Preparation: Prepare quarterly IFRS-compliant tax provisions. Collaborate with the finance team to ensure tax provisions are booked timely and accurately in financial statements.
• Transfer Pricing: Assist with providing guidance to the business regarding transfer pricing treatment. Assist with the preparation of transfer pricing documentation in various jurisdictions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax accounting.
• Strong knowledge of VAT, corporate tax laws, and ESR regulations.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
