Job description

A Tailor is responsible for altering staff uniforms and repairing guest items to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience while liaising with laundry suppliers and ensuring a uniform deposit system is in place.

What will I be doing

As a Tailor, you are responsible for altering staff uniforms and repairing guest items to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience. You will liaise with laundry suppliers and ensure a uniform deposit system is in place. Specifically, you will:

• Repair uniforms, linen, beddings, upholstery, minor repairs to curtains, napkins, and tablecloths to ensure proper fit and maintain high standards of quality.
• Assist in altering guest garments and suits as requested by in-house guests.
• Ensure proper issuance and distribution of employee uniforms, coordinating with the laundry team if required.
• Support sustainability initiatives by recycling discarded linen and towels as dusters or per the guidance of the Assistant Laundry Manager or Executive Housekeeper.
• Assist new team members by providing uniforms.
• Place new orders for uniforms and shoes.
• Support laundry operations by making pressing machine padding in-house.
• Perform embroidery work if needed.
• Arrive to work on time and as scheduled.
• Operate washer and dryer equipment if needed.
• Lift and move large heavy objects such as linen trolleys.
• Hang uniforms on conveyor belts and distribute to team members.
• Communicate effectively with guests and team members verbally and in writing.
• Follow and enforce standards for cleanliness in the uniform room area.
• Follow all safety procedures and standards, recognizing and acting appropriately in emergency situations.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including assisting the laundry team and linen inventory management.
