Job description

We are looking for a knowledgeable and proactive System Support Engineer to join our clients team, supporting a diverse range of clients. This role is primarily based at the office in Dubai, with travel to customer sites across the UAE as required. The successful candidate will provide Level 1 and Level 2 support across a variety of IBM technologies, server platforms, and virtualisation environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver Level 1 and Level 2 support for IBM Storage technologies, including:

  • IBM Flash Systems
  • IBM Desk Systems
  • IBM Application Library Systems
  • IBM Fusion Solution
  • IBM Elastic Storage Server (ESS)

Provide L1/L2 support for server and virtualisation platforms:

  • VMware virtualisation technologies
  • Lenovo servers (essential)
  • Dell and HP servers (preferred)
  • Support and troubleshoot IBM Power Systems at L1/L2 levels.
  • Respond to technical issues both remotely and on-site, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and customers to deliver high-quality support services.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of support activities, configurations, and resolutions.
  • Keep abreast of emerging technologies and best practices relevant to the role.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Demonstrable experience in a similar technical support or systems engineering role.

Strong technical knowledge of:

  • IBM Storage and Power Systems
  • VMware virtualisation
  • Lenovo, Dell, and HP server hardware
  • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Willingness to travel within the UAE for on-site support assignments.
