Overview

Chef Middle East, a leading foodservice distributor in the region, is looking for an experienced System Administrator to provide support to a multiuser computing environment and ensure continuous, optimal performance of IT services and support systems. Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization.

Responsibilities

• Design, install and configure servers, network devices and firewalls.
• Proactively manage and maintain server, network, and firewall systems
• Active Directory/LDAP user / Group Policy design and configuration and group administration.
• Skills to configure, manage, secure, and administer key professional functions in Microsoft Azure.
• Troubleshooting issues with an organization’s local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and other network segments
• Ensure security through access controls, backups, and firewalls.
• Develop and implement project plans, risk assessments and contingency plans.
• Microsoft Office 365 administration and support.
• Administer and support core Microsoft, Cisco, Citrix, Azure and VM technologies.
• Configuring Systems for New & Existing user (Windows & Mac based) with all necessary applications + Hardware installation.
• Maintain / support IP telephone system & CCTV.
• Support for handheld RF guns.
• Supporting remote locations (Branch offices) Remote access.
• Provide after-hours support as well occasional weekend maintenance.
• Maintain inventory and asset configuration documentation.
• Participating in hardware and software purchasing decisions
• Mentor / cross train team members on existing and new technologies
• Define and document best practices and support procedures.
• Interact with users and staff at the technical level, as required.
• Works closely with the Enterprise IT Team on projects, system support, network monitoring, and other duties as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned.

Key Qualifications and Experience

• 5+ years of verifiable experience in a similar role
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science (or related area) preferred.
• Microsoft Certification (MCSE) or equivalent certification in relevant programs desired.
• Advanced knowledge of Windows Server (2003/2008) /desktop Operating Systems.
• Knowledge in Azure portal, Creation of New VM/users, Resizing of VMS, Adding Storage, basic troubleshooting steps for machines, restricting access etc.
• Managing Windows Server infrastructure, Managing deployments/rollouts, Managing server virtualization technologies.
• A solid understanding of LAN/WAN networking
• Knowledge of system security (e.g., intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery
