- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on various types of switchgear, including medium and low voltage systems.
- Diagnose electrical issues using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques to minimize downtime and enhance system reliability.
- Install new switchgear and associated components, ensuring compliance with industry standards and local regulations.
- Collaborate with engineers to design and implement upgrades or modifications to existing switchgear systems.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections to ensure accurate reporting and compliance.
- Provide technical support and training to junior technicians and other personnel on switchgear operations and troubleshooting.
- Assist in the development of safety procedures and protocols related to high-voltage equipment handling.
- Respond promptly to emergency service calls and perform necessary repairs to restore service reliability.
- Stay current with industry trends and technological advancements to enhance skills and improve maintenance practices.
Desired Candidate Profile
- A diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, providing a solid foundation in electrical principles.
- At least 3-5 years of hands-on experience specifically with switchgear systems, demonstrating practical knowledge and expertise.
- Relevant certifications such as NETA, NICET, or similar, validating technical proficiency and commitment to safety standards.
- Proven experience in the electrical power distribution industry, showcasing familiarity with industry-specific challenges.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, ensuring effective troubleshooting and repair processes.
- Strong analytical skills to identify issues quickly and develop effective solutions under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills in English, with additional language proficiency being a plus for diverse work environments.
- Demonstrated physical ability to handle equipment and perform tasks in various environments, including confined spaces.
