Job description

Driven to create unique home-grown food concepts that bring people together, the Independent Food Company is a UAE-based hospitality company with multiple concepts under its umbrella – SALT, Parker’s, Grind, Somewhere, Public, Soil, Shalwa and Kumo.

We are presently seeking to hire a highly qualified Supply Chain QA Supervisor ensures the company’s products, raw materials, and processes throughout the supply chain meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards. This role involves supervising the compliance team, conducting audits (of suppliers and internal manufacturing/warehousing processes), developing quality assurance policies, and collaborating with departments to ensure continuous improvement and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervision and Leadership:
    • Lead and supervise the compliance team, providing guidance, training, and support.
    • Schedule and manage yearly compliance audits and inspections within the supply chain operations.
    • Follow-up on monthly reports and supply chain KPIs to ensure compliance with company standards.
    • Ensure team adherence to all quality assurance and compliance protocols.
  • Compliance Management:
    • Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance and compliance policies and procedures for suppliers and internal manufacturing/warehousing.
    • Ensure all products and raw materials meet regulatory and company standards.
    • Monitor and report on compliance with relevant regulatory requirements (e.g., UAE requirements, KSA requirements, GCC, HACCP and ISO22000).
    • Monitor supplier and internal supply chain adherence to regulatory and company standards.
  • Auditing and Inspection:
    • Plan and conduct internal audit and supplier audits.
    • Document audit findings, prepare reports, and ensure timely corrective actions.
    • Collaborate with external auditors and regulatory agencies during inspections and audits.
    • Ensure raw material and ingredient food safety approval.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Identify areas for improvement in supply chain quality assurance processes and implement solutions.
    • Analyze quality data and metrics to identify trends and root causes of non-compliance at suppliers and internal supply chain points.
    • Lead or participate in cross-functional teams to drive quality and compliance initiatives.
    • Ensure all CPU and branches are HACCP certified and maintain the certification.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of compliance activities.
    • Prepare and present weekly and monthly reports on compliance status and performance metrics.
    • Ensure documentation meets regulatory requirements and INDPT standards.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in quality assurance or compliance, preferably in the manufacturing, food production, or supply chain industry.
  • Proven experience in conducting audits and managing compliance programs.
  • Experience working with regulatory bodies and understanding of relevant industry regulations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in quality assurance, Food Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Certification in quality assurance (HACCP Level 4, ISO 22000 Lead auditor)
  • In-depth understanding of industry-specific regulations and standards relevant to supply chain and manufacturing operations.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Proficient in using quality management software and tools.
