Supply Chain Analyst:
The Supply Chain Analyst will support Emerson’s 5-year strategic growth plan in MEA, performing day-to-day regional procurement and logistics activities. This role will focus on the specialized requirements of the metering skids industry, including navigating complex engineering requirements and ensuring procurement activities align with project specifications and timelines. The role requires collaboration with local and global teams across business units to implement supply chain improvement programs such as tactical sourcing, cost reduction, regionalization, supply optimization, and contract management. The position is based at MEA Headquarters in Dubai.
Responsibilities:
- Source various categories of indirect materials, including MRO and services, to deliver optimal total cost with minimal risk to Emerson.
- Procure materials and components critical to metering skids (e.g., valves, flow meters, pressure sensors, instrumentation) at competitive prices, ensuring quality and profitability through vendor selection.
- Manage end-to-end RFx processes, including maintaining Opportunity/RFQ trackers and vendor lists.
- Work with customers to clearly document requirements for RFx processes, maximizing the use of AVL and PSL.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to verify technical specifications for metering skids and related components.
- Negotiate with suppliers to increase value while ensuring mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Optimize payment terms and improve Days Payable Outstanding (DPO).
- Build strong supplier relationships to foster strategic collaboration and position Emerson as a preferred customer.
- Assess supplier capabilities for manufacturing precision metering components.
- Support procurement of services and materials, including continuous improvement initiatives, market research, scope validation, contract development, and dispute resolution.
- Coordinate with legal for contract management to mitigate risks.
- Assist with logistics activities and MIC support for Global Sales MEA shipments.
- Manage local customs requirements, permits, registrations, and website memberships for import/export across MEA.
- Ensure accuracy and consistency in Master Data Management for logistics assets.
- Support procure-to-pay processes, resolving invoice/payment issues and supplier disputes.
- Uphold high standards of integrity and ensure compliance with the Emerson Code of Ethics.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain management, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in a matrix organization, preferably in oil and gas, chemical processing, or utilities sectors.
- Proven experience in supplier management and negotiation, especially with technical vendors.
- Proficiency in English.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience as a technical buyer focusing on metering skids and instrumentation.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Logistics experience, including customs handling.
- Familiarity with e-sourcing platforms like SAP Ariba.
- Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle.
- Professional certifications like CIPS, CIPP/PM, or CSCP.
