Job summary

ADNOC (Abu Dhabi National Oil Company) seeks an experienced supervisor to manage the operation of Process Plants and Storage & Export on shift, ensuring production targets are met safely and efficiently. The role includes overseeing crude oil handling, commissioning, and maintenance coordination, with strong emphasis on safety and process integrity.

The incumbent will coordinate with labs for testing, maintain records, and ensure compliance with corporate and international standards.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Engineering.
• Five years of experience in process plant operations or related roles.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and control operation of Process Plants and Storage & Export on assigned shift to meet production targets.
• Oversee intake, storage and export of crude oil using pumps and meters, ensuring timely shipping.
• Review and prepare operating and commissioning procedures; manage plant safety and compliance.
• Liaise with Laboratory for product testing and QC to ensure quality.
• Maintain log books and records; monitor stock levels of chemicals and consumables.

Job Purpose

Supervises and controls the operation of any of the Process Plants and Storage & Export on assigned shift to ensure Production targets are met and plants are operating safely, efficiently and economically.

Job Specific Accountabilities (Part 1)

• Meets oil production and gas supply requirements. Assists in proving the crude oil export and production meters in liaison with Supreme Petroleum Council (SPC) representatives.
• Supervises receipt, storage and export of crude oil using pumps, turbine meters and prover to ensure timely execution of the shipping programme.
• Supervises decommissioning & commissioning of tanks in line with maintenance, major overhaul and desludging of tanks. Reviews & prepares Operating & commissioning procedures for all plants.
• Conducts necessary analysis of IDP system to ensure the required level of competency of sites Process personnel.
• Prepares programmes for plants, equipment isolation and ensures plant and equipment are free of gas and safe for commencing repair, maintenance, overhaul, modification works.
• Ensures the availability of necessary log books & records of plant conditions. Troubleshoots plants & units’ operations to ensure optimum performance.
• Liaises with Laboratory Technician for testing of product and export samples to ensure Quality Control.
• Keeps record of chemicals and consumables used for process, storex operation, monitors consumption and maintains stocks at safe levels.

• Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.
• Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective section objectives.

Budgets

• Provide input for preparation of the Department / Section budgets and assist in the implementation of the approved Budget and work plans to deliver Section objectives.
• Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control.

• Implement approved Department / Section policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support execution of the Section’s work programs in line with Company and International standards.
• Comply with all applicable legislation and legal regulations.

• Contribute to the achievement of the approved Performance Objectives for the Department / Section in line with the Company Performance framework.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement

• Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes.
• Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with best Industry standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function.

Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability

• Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practices.
• Participate in Emergency Response duties as a team member.

Reports

• Provide inputs to prepare MIS and progress reports for Company Management
