Job summary

Worley is seeking a Specialist Material & Corrosion Engineer to lead materials engineering across FEED, EPC, and detailed design phases. You will develop strategies for material selection for process facilities, pipelines, and offshore structures, ensuring safe and cost-effective operation.

Your role includes preparing reports, reviews, and coordination with multiple disciplines. The ideal candidate brings 15+ years of Oil & Gas experience, ADNOC offshore exposure, and strong knowledge of

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university.
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in Oil & Gas or Petrochemical.
  • ADNOC & Offshore project experience required.
  • PMC experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of material selection and corrosion engineering per NACE/ASME/ASTM/API/ISO.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all materials engineering activities during FEED, EPC, and detailed engineering phases.
  • Develop and implement materials selection strategies for facilities, pipelines, piping, equipment, and offshore structures.
  • Prepare, review, and approve material selection reports, corrosion studies, and material specifications.
  • Perform materials selection and corrosion assessments considering process conditions and life requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with ADNOC standards and international codes (NACE, ASME, ASTM, API, ISO).
  • Provide expertise in corrosion control, coatings, cathodic protection, metallurgy, welding, and non-metallic materials.
  • Review vendor documentation and technical bids to ensure project alignment.
  • Support HAZOP, HAZID, constructability reviews, and value engineering.
  • Coordinate with Process, Mechanical, Piping, Civil, Inspection, and Procurement disciplines.
  • Participate in technical meetings with clients, vendors, and contractors.
  • Monitor deliverables to meet schedules, quality, and HSE.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage all materials engineering activities during FEED, EPC, and detailed engineering phases of the project.
  • Develop and implement materials selection strategies for process facilities, pipelines, piping systems, static equipment, and offshore structures, ensuring safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation.
  • Prepare, review, and approve material selection reports, corrosion studies, material specifications, piping class specifications, and technical requisitions.
  • Perform materials selection and corrosion assessments considering process conditions, operating environments, and project design life requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with ADNOC standards, project specifications, and applicable international codes and standards such as NACE, ASME, ASTM, API, and ISO.
  • Provide technical expertise in corrosion control, coating systems, cathodic protection interfaces, metallurgy, welding requirements, and non-metallic materials applications.
  • Review vendor documentation, technical bid evaluations, and material compliance documentation to ensure alignment with project requirements.
  • Support HAZOP, HAZID, constructability reviews, value engineering studies, and design optimization initiatives.
  • Coordinate closely with Process, Mechanical, Piping, Civil, Inspection, and Procurement disciplines to ensure appropriate material selection and specification.
  • Participate in technical meetings with clients, vendors, contractors, and stakeholders to resolve material-related issues.
  • Monitor engineering deliverables and ensure activities are completed in accordance with project schedules, quality standards, and HSE requirements.

Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of Specialists, Senior Engineers, and Engineers to ensure technical excellence and effective project delivery.

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering discipline or equivalent, from an accredited university; or a minimum of fifteen (15) years of relevant experience in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry.
  • Must have at least five (5) years of experience in a similar position on mega Oil & Gas or Petrochemical projects.
  • ADNOC & Offshore project experience is required.
  • PMC experience is required.
  • Experience in FEED & EPC Phases is required.
  • ADNOC & Offshore project experience is required.
  • PMC experiences are preferrable.
  • Experience in FEED & EPC Phases is required.
  • Strong knowledge of material selection, corrosion engineering, metallurgy, coatings, and international standards including NACE, ASME, ASTM, API, and ISO requirements.
  • Experience in preparing Material Selection Diagrams (MSDs), Corrosion Control Documents (CCDs), and material specifications for offshore and onshore facilities.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary and multicultural project environments.
