Job summary

ADNOC Group is seeking an experienced Cathodic Protection Supervisor to oversee monitoring, upgrading and inspection activities across the plant infrastructure in Abu Dhabi. You will review work orders, prioritize tasks and supervise contractors to ensure compliance with company standards.

The role requires a Diploma in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering with at least 5 years in CP within Oil & Gas, including monitoring, installation and troubleshooting of CP systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in cathodic protection monitoring, upgrading and inspection in Oil & Gas.
• Proven ability to supervise CP projects and coordinate with contractors.
• Strong understanding of CP principles and electrical testing methods.

Responsibilities

• Review daily work orders and prioritize CP activities to ensure timely service.
• Monitor and interpret CP system readings and determine corrective actions.
• Supervise CP installation, commissioning and testing to meet standards.
• Produce trend analyses of CP data to support continuous operations.

Job Purpose

Supervise and perform the cathodic protection monitoring, upgrading and inspection activities to ensure continuous functioning of all equipment.

Job Specific Accountabilities

• Review daily work orders, prioritize based on production needs and assign tasks accordingly to ensure timely provision of services to all units.
• Review new CP projects, documents / drawings and provide feedback / recommendations to facilitate accurate capturing of operational requirements.
• Supervise and perform cathodic protection inspection and troubleshooting to ensure accurate functioning as per standards operating standards and procedures.
• Supervise the installation and commissioning of CP systems provided by contractors, to conform to company standards and specifications.
• Monitor and interpret IR (Current/Resistance) drop and on-off potential of the Cathodic Protection system, carry out piping survey using close interval potential measurement in order to promptly alert superior of any non-conformances for immediate corrective action.
• Monitor the pipe-to-soil potential as per the predetermined schedule of all CP systems and determine optimal power requirement for Cathodic Protection purposes.
• Monitor and review the coating and wrapping deterioration trends, to ensure optimum efficiency of cathodic protection operations and thereby minimize piping corrosion.
• Produce computerized trends of the potential / current drainage and monitor the performance to support continuous operations.

Minimum Qualification

Diploma in Mechanical, or, Chemical Engineering or related discipline

• 5 years of experience in carrying out cathodic protection monitoring, upgrading and inspection activities within the Oil and Gas industry
