Job summary
ADNOC Group in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, seeks an experienced Cathodic Protection Technician to supervise monitoring, inspection, and upgrading activities, ensuring CP systems operate effectively and corrosion protection across pipelines.
The role focuses on reviewing work requirements, interpreting IR drop and potential measurements, and coordinating with contractors, with a minimum of five years in CP within the Oil and Gas sector.
On-site work arrangement and a full-time position.
Qualifications
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering (or related discipline).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in cathodic protection monitoring, upgrading and inspection in Oil & Gas.
- Experience supervising CP inspections and contractor work.
- Experience with IR drop and potential measurements.
Responsibilities
- Review daily work orders and assign tasks to operating units.
- Review drawings for CP projects and provide recommendations to ensure requirements are met.
- Supervise CP inspections, troubleshooting and contractor installation activities.
- Monitor and interpret IR drop and on-off potential measurements.
- Conduct close interval potential measurements and pipe-to-soil potential monitoring.
- Identify non-conformances and report for corrective action.
- Monitor coating deterioration and determine CP power needs.
- Produce trends of potential and current drainage.
