Job summary

L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering seeks a Telecom Site Engineer for substation projects to supervise and execute telecommunication and SCADA works on site, ensuring compliance with design specs, safety, and schedules.

You will install, test, and commission SDH/MPLS, RTUs, SCADA, teleprotection, CCTV, access control, and networking gear; coordinate with clients, vendors, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver reliable substation communications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Telecommunication, or Electrical Engineering.
• 8–12 years of telecom installation/commissioning experience.
• Experience with substation telecom systems including SDH, MPLS, RTU, SCADA.
• Familiarity with IEC61850, IEC60870‑5‑104, DNP3 standards.

Responsibilities

• Site Execution & Supervision of telecom installations at substations.
• Installation, testing, configuration, and commissioning of telecom and SCADA systems.
• Quality control, inspections, and documentation of activities.
• Coordination with electrical, protection, SCADA, and civil teams; liaise with clients and vendors.
• Adhere to HSE policies and prepare daily reports and commissioning checklists.
