Roles and Responsibilities:
As a key member of the Liwa Education team, you will:
- Support the vision and high aspirations of Liwa Education, focusing on student achievement and personal development.
- Contribute to evaluating the school's strengths and weaknesses to promote improvement.
- Utilize performance data to monitor, evaluate, and enhance student performance in the subject.
- Work within the school's financial management plan to achieve educational priorities.
- Engage with parents as needed to support pupils and improve outcomes.
As a leader, expert, and champion of your subject:
- Take responsibility for planning, delivery, assessment, and support across all schools and grades.
- Ensure the subject curriculum is of high quality, relevant, and meets international and national standards.
- Regularly review and update curriculum content and scope documents, including relevant external links.
- Collaborate with staff involved in leadership and delivery to meet international standards.
- Ensure assessment tools and procedures are valid, reliable, and fit for purpose.
- Maintain accurate and honest assessment reporting to students, parents, and school leaders.
- Produce detailed reports on student learning, progress, and attainment levels against benchmarks.
- Develop and implement an annual plan highlighting strengths, weaknesses, and performance analysis.
- Coordinate with Assessment Coordinators to ensure assessments adhere to policies, especially regarding integrity and security.
- Work collaboratively to ensure assessments are valid and reliable.
- Provide subject expertise to staff as required.
Any other duties as directed by the Director of Schools.
Key Performance Indicators:
- Quality and relevance of the curriculum and extracurricular activities.
- Percentage of students achieving international standards.
- Achievement of curriculum targets by students and cohorts.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in the relevant subject area.
- ADEK recognized professional teaching qualification.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years teaching experience.
- At least 3 years in a leadership role in the relevant subject area.
- At least 3 years in curriculum design and review.
- At least 3 years in assessment design and reporting.
Technical and Behavioral Competencies:
- Excellent organizational and detail-oriented skills.
- Strong numerical, team-building, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of curriculum design and student assessment.
- Understanding of assessment/examination procedures and protocols.
- Familiarity with ADEK/MOE curriculum and regulations.
- Proficiency in MS Office and technical tools for data analysis and report writing.
