Job summary

Zayed University in Abu Dhabi seeks a Studio Technician to provide technical support to faculty and students within the College of Arts and Creative Enterprises. You will oversee studios, labs and shops, ensuring safety, maintenance and smooth daily operations.

Responsibilities include liaising on safety issues, assisting with teaching goals, preparing equipment, and supporting exhibition installations. A B.F.A.

Qualifications

• B.F.A or equivalent in an accredited disiplinary area; minimum 2 years relevant experience or equivalent
• Broad studio experience and familiarity with chemicals, tools and machinery in multiple disciplines (at least three)
• Able to lift, carry and move heavy items; strong health and safety awareness
• Excellent English communication and writing skills
• Competent in exhibition preparation and studio operations
• Substantial computer literacy and reporting capability

Responsibilities

• Serve as liaison between CACE and CPDS for maintenance and safety issues
• Collaborate with faculty to support teaching goals and departmental projects
• Maintain daily operations of art and design studios, shops and labs
• Prepare equipment and materials for classes and teaching
• Assist with exhibition installation as required
• Manage inventories and procurement of materials and resources
• Provide technical support and maintenance for studio equipment
• Demonstrate safe operation of machines and studio tools to staff and students
