The VWU Student Success is seeking a highly motivated and organized Student Success Coach to join our team. This full-time position is part of the professional advising team and is responsible for engaging on-campus students with academic resources. The Student Success Coach manages a caseload of First Year students as they enter classes at Virginia Wesleyan until they declare a major. Coaches help ensure student success by smoothing college transition difficulties, directing students to resources, and tracking progress.

Job Purpose

• The Student Success Coach is responsible for managing the academic progress and ensuring the holistic college success of a group of First Year students until they declare a major course of study.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist the Office of Enrollment and Campus Life with onboarding incoming First Year students.
• Collaborate with the Registrar's Office to ensure all records are up-to-date for assigned students.
• Meet regularly with First Year students to support their transition to college.
• Provide guidance to students during course registration.
• Partner with faculty and staff to monitor students' academic progress.
• Direct students to campus resources to support their success.
• Work with other Student Success staff to develop workshops and presentations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Associate Vice President for Student Success.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 1 year of related higher education experience.
