Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Structural Inspector to join our team. In this role you will get to inspect structural works on the jobsite and perform continuous surveillance of assigned inspection activities to ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and specifications.

What You'll Be Doing:

  1. Conducting field inspections, tests, evaluations, verifications, and documentation of the O&M Contractor’s inspections, preventative maintenance, and corrective maintenance within all civil systems including roads, utilities, roadway signage, maintenance and cleaning, logistics, plant nursery maintenance, and pedestrian bridges.
  2. Supporting the landscape, electrical, and mechanical inspectors with all civil support inspection activities at the site.
  3. Overseeing the daily routine operations and maintenance works by the O&M Contractors at the site and identifying any issues or required works.
  4. Preparing various inspection reports, progress reports, and other site records as required within the contract or as required by the client or PMC staff.
  5. Ensuring that all construction, operations, and maintenance works related to civil and structural works are performed in strict accordance with the plans and specifications.
  6. Maintaining a detailed diary of the day’s work activities, issues, work approved or rejected, hours of operation, labor and equipment used, etc., and signing at the end of each day as directed by the ARE.
  7. Coordinating with the contractor in charge of the work daily to monitor the performance and proper execution of the work.
  8. Reporting questionable methods of operation by the contractor to the ARE or to the Resident Engineer.
  9. Reporting to the ARE or RE any failure of the contractor to perform the work as per the drawings and specifications and to provide good workmanship.
  10. Processing the Inspection Requests and maintaining records of their status.
  11. Maintaining detailed records of work performed by the contractor in case the work is performed on a Day Works basis.
  12. Acting in a professional but firm manner in dealings with the contractor.
  13. Performing other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  1. B.Sc. Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university and must have an equivalency certificate clearly mentioning degree from the Ministry of Education in UAE.
  2. Minimum 6-8 years of experience in maintenance of structures (bridges & underpasses) for projects in UAE.
  3. Sound knowledge about contractual relationships.
  4. Fully computer literate and able to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports, etc.
  5. Ability to read and interpret drawings and construction specifications and be thoroughly familiar with construction-related processes related to area of assignment.
  6. Excellent capability in written technical skills as well as oral and written communication skills in English.
  7. Equivalency certificate from UAE-MOE for the educational certificate.
