Job summary

Qualifications

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Steel Structure Engineer to join our team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and overseeing the execution of steel structural systems for commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects. You will work collaboratively with architects, contractors, and project managers to deliver high-quality structural solutions that meet international standards and local regulatory requirements.

• Design and analyze steel structures using advanced CAD and structural analysis software, ensuring compliance with international building codes and UAE construction standards
• Prepare detailed structural drawings, calculations, and specifications for steel fabrication and construction
• Conduct site inspections and supervise steel structure installation to ensure quality, safety, and adherence to project specifications
• Perform structural assessments and provide technical recommendations for modifications or improvements
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including architects, civil engineers, and contractors to optimize design solutions
• Review and approve shop drawings and fabrication plans submitted by steel contractors
• Maintain organized project documentation and ensure all structural designs are properly archived and accessible
• Identify and resolve structural challenges through analytical problem-solving and innovative engineering solutions
• Ensure all work complies with relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations
• Participate in project meetings and provide technical expertise to support project timelines and budgets

Qualifications

• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software such as STAAD Pro, SAP2000, or equivalent
• Advanced skills in CAD software, particularly AutoCAD and Tekla Structures
• Strong knowledge of steel design codes including IBC, Eurocode, and local UAE building regulations
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in steel structure design and project execution
• Demonstrated expertise in BIM modeling and coordination
• Solid understanding of steel fabrication processes and construction methodologies
• Experience with quality control and site supervision of steel structural projects
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail
• Excellent organizational and project management abilities
• Proficiency in technical report writing and documentation
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration or equivalent professional certification (preferred)
• Familiarity with UAE construction standards and local project requirements (preferred)
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards of accuracy
