The Structure Engineer will be integrated with the LNG Project Team and will be responsible for all structural design aspects.
Position based in Dubai for 23 years with missions in India at the beginning of the project during detail engineering and Gabon at the end of the project for site commissioning activities.
Report to: Structure Lead Engineer
RESPONSIBILITIES:
During Detail Engineering:
Based at Engineering Contractor Facilities to supervise 3D model and layouts development during the entire Detail Engineering phase.
Manage all structural interfaces between contractors and Company free issue items.
Develop and/or review structural specifications.
Check all produced documents (internal or subcontracted) like structural calculation notes, design reports, technical specifications, drawings, etc. under his responsibility.
Provide support to all purchasing activities: requisition, technical bid evaluation, review of vendor documentation.
During Phase:
Act as Field Engineer for all technical clarification for Fabrication Contractor.
Review Contractor fabrication and welding specifications.
Review Contractor construction engineering deliverables such as shop drawings.
Provide Materials Engineering consulting to inspectors, engineers, management, and operators.
Mentor inspectors, engineers, and others in materials technologies such as materials selection, welding and fabrication, and corrosion control.
Attend FAT for vendor packages.
REQUIREMENTS:
8-10 years experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
Hold a degree in Engineering or equivalent experience including responsibilities like those listed above.
Demonstrate the ability to lead and participate in team activities resulting in high-quality problem solving, root cause analysis, damage mechanism reviews, and RBI studies.
Able to climb ladders, enter equipment, and participate in offshore operations.
