Job summary

PROGRESS FIRST TECHNICAL SERVICES L.L.C cting co L.L.C is seeking a qualified structural engineer to design steel-framed buildings and industrial facilities, ensuring compliance with codes and project specs.

You will perform advanced analyses for load-bearing capacity and seismic performance, and produce fabrication drawings, erection plans, and connection details in close collaboration with fabricators and contractors.

Qualifications

• Experience in a relevant industry such as commercial construction or infrastructure projects.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and clients.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a meticulous approach to design and detailing.
• Ability to interpret and apply complex engineering codes and standards accurately.
• Fluency in English (written and verbal); proficiency in other languages is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed structural designs for steel-framed buildings and industrial facilities ensuring compliance with building codes and project specifications
• Perform complex structural analysis using advanced software to assess load-bearing capacities stability and seismic performance of steel structures
• Produce precise fabrication drawings erection plans and connection details for steel components collaborating closely with fabricators and contractors
• Conduct site visits and inspections to verify construction quality resolve design conflicts and ensure adherence to approved plans
• Review and approve shop drawings submitted by steel fabricators ensuring they meet design intent and construction tolerances
• Collaborate with architects mechanical engineers and other disciplines to integrate structural steel designs seamlessly into the overall project
• Conduct value engineering studies to optimize steel usage and construction methods identifying cost-effective solutions without compromising structural integrity
• Prepare technical reports design justifications and material specifications for structural steel elements
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in steel design codes materials and construction technologies applying them to enhance project outcomes
• Manage and mentor junior engineers providing technical guidance and fostering a culture of design excellence and safety
