Job summary

Al Khoory Group in Dubai seeks a Technical Purchaser to own the sourcing of specialised, technically specified products from specification review through supplier qualification, negotiation and order placement. The role sits between operations and engineering, challenging specs, evaluating supplier capabilities and ensuring compliance with lead times and total cost of ownership.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
4–6 years of procurement experience, incl. 3 years buying technical or specialised products in industrial/commercial environments.
Proven experience reading technical specifications, drawings and data sheets; ability to judge equivalence between products.
Strong negotiation skills, including international sourcing and import procedures.
Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel.

Responsibilities

Specialised product sourcing: review requisitions and specs, clarify gaps before going to market.
Identify, shortlist and approach suppliers for specialised items incl. industrial equipment.
Run RFQ/RFPs, prepare comparative bid analyses and recommend awards on technical and commercial basis.
Source alternatives with sign-off from the technical owner when needed.
Supplier evaluation and onboarding: assess technical criteria, coordinate samples, maintain approved list and monitor performance.
