Job summary

GMG in Dubai is seeking a Buyer to manage purchasing and inventory strategies for the assigned Business Unit. You will source, select, and negotiate with suppliers to ensure high-quality, market-appropriate products at competitive prices.

You will collaborate with the Category Manager to align buying strategies with objectives, drive profitability, and satisfy customers, while using SAP and Power BI to report on performance and supplier KPIs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business; preferred supply chain focus.
• Masters degree is advantageous.
• Certification in Procurement.
• 6+ years total experience, including 4 years in procurement and 2 in retail buying.
• Experience in inventory management.
• SAP ERP knowledge required.
• Proficiency in Power BI.
• Experience in sports retail.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end buying process from selection to PO and on-time delivery.
• Analyze market, competitors, and trends for categories.
• Build seasonal and in-season assortments per strategy.
• Negotiate cost prices, terms, rebates to maximize margin.
• Review sales, stock, and margin by category to identify opportunities.
• Manage stock with Merchandising and Allocation for seasonal demand.
• Coordinate with Logistics to ensure timely inbound flow and shipments.
• Gather feedback from stores on product performance and merchandising.
• Use SAP and Power BI to create reports on purchasing performance.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies and record-keeping.
• Support promotions and launches by aligning availability and pricing.
