Job summary

Gulf Marketing Group (GMG Group) in Dubai seeks a Senior Buyer to oversee end-to-end buying for the Sports business unit, sourcing, selecting, and negotiating with suppliers to secure quality products and profitable assortments. You will work closely with the Category Manager and cross-functional teams, using SAP and Power BI to drive data-driven decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or Supply Chain required; Master’s degree advantageous.
• Procurement certification preferred.
• 5 years in procurement; 3 years in retail buying.

Responsibilities

• Lead product selection and procurement for assigned categories; build assortments aligned with market trends and brand positioning.
• Conduct market and competitor research to identify opportunities and gaps in the range.
• Negotiate commercial terms with suppliers to maximize margin and value; include costs, payment terms, rebates, and delivery conditions.
• Manage purchase orders, tracking, and follow-up to ensure on-time, in-full deliveries per seasonal calendars.
• Use SAP, Power BI, and Excel to analyze sales, stock, and purchasing data and forecast requirements.
• Collaborate with Merchandising, Allocation, and Logistics to ensure smooth product flow and stock levels.
• Monitor purchasing performance against budgets and financial targets; recommend actions (rebuys, cancellations, rephasing, markdowns).
• Assess supplier performance and drive continuous improvement in quality and terms.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies and prepare leadership reports.
• Provide guidance to Buyers and Assistants on best practices.
