Job summary

Orbitworks in the UAE is seeking a high‑performing Buyer to support the rapid setup of a satellite manufacturing facility. You will drive procurement of materials, hardware, and services while leading subcontracting activities to meet engineering and production timelines.

You will collaborate with engineering, production, and logistics teams to optimize costs, manage PO/contract lifecycles, and ensure ERP data accuracy (NetSuite preferred).

Qualifications

• 35 years of procurement experience in manufacturing/industrial environments (aerospace or defense preferred).
• Strong understanding of subcontract management and procurement principles with a proven track record in negotiating and managing contracts.
• Expert negotiation skills with suppliers to secure favorable terms while maintaining relationships.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Detail-oriented with strong documentation and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Source and procure materials, hardware, and services to meet engineering and production needs.
• Lead subcontracting efforts including preparation, negotiation, and PO/contract management.
• Negotiate with suppliers for optimal pricing and delivery schedules; maintain supplier relationships.
• Oversee inventory levels and develop procurement strategies aligned with company goals.
• Ensure ERP data accuracy (NetSuite preferred) and manage PO tracking and approvals.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and logistics teams to align procurement with schedules.
• Track purchasing activity and provide leadership with insights on costs and performance.
