Job summary

STAAR Aviation is seeking a Production Planner to create and maintain production schedules, manage material requirements, release work orders, and monitor progress to ensure on-time delivery.

The role requires close coordination with Production, Purchasing, and Stores to ensure materials and resources are available to support manufacturing operations. Candidates typically have 3-5 years in production planning within manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline required.
• 3-5 years of experience in production planning or similar role within manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Create, maintain, and update production schedules and plans.
• Forecast material requirements and calculate order dates based on supplier lead times.
• Manage materials for manufacturing operations involving a high volume of part numbers (500+).
• Create, release, manage, and distribute work orders through the ERP system.
• Assign released work orders to customer orders and monitor progress through production.
• Track and report the status of released work orders to the Production Manager.
• Review actual work order operation times against standard manufacturing times and report variances.
• Ensure accurate planning data is maintained within the ERP system.
• Work closely with Production, Purchasing, and Stores to support manufacturing requirements.
