JOB CONTRACT / GRADE : NOA FIXED-TERM STAFF

JOB LOCATION : UAE, DUBAI

REPORTING TO : Head of Supplier Relationship Management

The Strategic Market Analyst position is part of the Supplier Relationship Management team of the GCC WFP Office based in Dubai. The position holder will report to the Head of Supplier Relationship Management and will support the development and implementation of the new Food Supplier Relationship Management strategy across GCC region. The role will involve understanding WFP's current and future needs for food items, delivering a range of supplier engagement activities, conducting GCC market research and analysis, and effectively prioritizing supplier relationship management tasks while operating with minimal supervision.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
  1. Conduct market analyses to find the best-value suppliers, with a focus on the GCC / UAE region.
  2. Assess market dynamics in the GCC / UAE region to enhance WFP's procurement of food items.
  3. Maintain and support the development of strategic supplier networks across the GCC to foster a robust supply chain.
  4. Leverage local knowledge to enhance WFP's procurement of high-quality food items within the UAE region and beyond.
  5. Participate in relevant food suppliers' events in the GCC region to expand WFP's network.
  6. Contribute to tailored procurement strategies for the GCC / UAE market to increase the number of tenders received by WFP from local and regional food suppliers.
  7. Monitor global market trends and pricing, with a focus on the GCC / UAE region.
  8. Stay updated on advancements in the GCC / UAE market to promote innovation in procurement practices.
  9. Organize meetings between WFP colleagues and vendors to align food solutions with WFP's procurement needs.
  10. Fulfill any other duties as required to support WFP's objectives.
Position requirements :
  1. University degree in Food Technology, Agriculture, (Food) Economics, Business Administration, Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, International relations, or a related field.
  2. Bilingual, proficiency in Arabic and English.
  3. Driven and motivated by WFP's mandate, showcasing a commitment to humanitarian goals. Strong work ethic, and genuine willingness to contribute to advancing global food security.
  4. Readiness to travel to all locations across GCC and to locations where WFP operates.
  5. Minimum of 1-year post-graduate experience, ideally in a commercial, business, procurement, or supply chain position.
  6. Excellent people skills, a proven team approach.
  7. The ability to thrive in multicultural environments, and a curious mindset geared towards analytical thinking and innovation.
  8. Track record of achieving tangible and measurable results in previous roles with an ability to set and meet ambitious targets aligned with organizational objectives.
