Job summary

Union Properties PJSC in Dubai is seeking a Director of Finance Internal Controls to design, implement and oversee the company’s internal control framework. The role protects assets, ensures accurate financial reporting and promotes a culture of compliance and risk awareness at the senior leadership level.

You will work closely with executive management and the board’s audit committee to ensure robust governance, risk management processes and effective control ownership across the organisation.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive experience in finance internal controls or risk management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Professional certifications such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CISA are essential.
• In-depth knowledge of internal control frameworks (e.g. COSO) and risk management principles.
• Proven ability to develop and implement control strategies in a complex organisation.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain a comprehensive finance internal control framework aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct risk assessments to identify, analyse and mitigate financial, operational and compliance risks.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations and internal policies.
• Prepare and present reports on control deficiencies, risk exposures and remediation plans to senior management and the audit committee.
• Collaborate with Finance, Legal and Operations to embed control ownership and awareness across the business.
• Drive continuous improvement of control processes and systems to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Lead investigations into potential control breaches or fraudulent activities as required.
