Job summary

Svitzer is seeking an experienced Regional Head of Communications for AMEA to lead the region's communications, public affairs, and stakeholder engagement strategy. You will work with senior leaders to shape brand voice, manage reputation, and drive engagement across employees, customers, media and government bodies.

You will oversee internal and external communications, crisis response, digital and social media, and brand positioning, partnering with global teams to ensure regional relevance

Qualifications

• Qualifications in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field.
• Minimum 12 years' experience in senior communications and/or public affairs, including B2B and/or regulated industries experience.
• Experience advising senior executives and working in matrixed, global organisations.
• Proven success in developing and delivering integrated communications strategies.
• Experience with media, crisis response, social media, and stakeholder engagement.
• Familiarity with maritime, logistics, transport, oil and gas, mining or industrial sectors preferred.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong political and issues radar and business acumen.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the regional communications and public affairs strategy, advising the MD and leadership on priorities, reputation and change.
• Lead internal communications via leadership updates, town halls and digital channels to foster engagement and culture activation.
• Strengthen external and commercial communications with media relations, messaging, and marketing support.
• Build relationships with government authorities, regulators and industry associations, supporting advocacy.
• Oversee brand, digital and social media planning and content, ensuring consistency with global strategy.
• Serve on crisis communications, preparing holding statements and stakeholder messaging.
• Collaborate with regional and global teams, manage external agencies and teams.
