Job summary

A marine engineering firm in Dubai is seeking an experienced Storekeeper to manage inventory and ensure efficient store operations. You will be responsible for receiving and verifying incoming goods, organizing stocks, conducting regular counts, and maintaining accurate stock records. The ideal candidate has at least two years of experience in storekeeping, particularly in the marine or shipbuilding sector, along with basic computer and ERP skills.

Qualifications

  • More than 2 years experience as a storekeeper, preferably in the marine or Ship repair / Shipbuilding.
  • Basic knowledge in ERP.

  • Receive, check, and verify incoming goods and materials, ensuring they match the purchase order and delivery notes.
  • Organize and store goods in an efficient and accessible manner within the store.
  • Maintain accurate stock records, ensuring all stock movements are logged into the inventory management system.
  • Assist in conducting regular stock counts and manage inventory discrepancies.
  • Ensure stock levels are maintained and inform the Store Lead when stock is low or needs to be reordered.
  • Prepare and issue materials to various departments as per their requirements, ensuring proper documentation is maintained.
  • Assist with material requisitions and orders, ensuring materials are available for production or operations.
  • Ensure that the store area is clean, safe, and well-organized, following health and safety guidelines.
  • Manage the proper storage and disposal of hazardous materials in compliance with safety protocols.
  • Maintain records of materials and equipment movements, ensuring accurate and up-to-date files.
  • Support the Store Lead in implementing and monitoring inventory control procedures.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports, including stock movements and stock levels.
  • Monitor and record damages, losses, or discrepancies in stock.
  • Support the Store Lead with any ad-hoc tasks as required to ensure efficient store operations.
Requirements
  • High School Certificate or Diploma
  • More than 2 years experience as a storekeeper, preferably in the marine or Ship repair / Shipbuilding
  • Basic computer skills for record-keeping and using inventory systems.
  • Basic knowledge in ERP
