ob Summary:

The Senior Storekeeper is responsible for overseeing the receipt, storage, issuance, and recordkeeping of all MEP-related materials, tools, and equipment at the project site or central warehouse. This role ensures that inventory is managed efficiently in alignment with project timelines and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate daily store operations and a team of storekeepers or helpers.
  • Receive, inspect, and verify quantity and quality of incoming MEP materials (e.g., HVAC units, electrical cables, pipes, valves).
  • Ensure proper storage of materials with correct labeling, categorization, and safety precautions.
  • Monitor stock levels and maintain accurate inventory records using ERP/software systems.
  • Issue materials based on Material Request Forms (MRF), site needs, and project priorities.
  • Maintain and update stock registers, delivery notes, gate passes, and related documentation.
  • Coordinate with procurement, logistics, QA/QC, and site engineers for smooth material flow.
  • Manage return of surplus or defective materials in coordination with suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, security, and housekeeping protocols in the store.
  • Conduct periodic physical inventory counts and reconcile with system records.
  • Train and guide junior store staff on best practices and standard operating procedures.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Business, Logistics, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of experience in storekeeping, with at least 3 years in an MEP construction environment.
  • Strong knowledge of MEP materials and equipment.
  • Familiar with inventory management systems (ERP, SAP, or similar).
